Virtual Tai Chi Workshop with Kevin Werre
Wednesday, June 28, 2023
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
UHWC partners with Connection Tai Chi as we co-host a virtual workshop with Kevin Werre of Awareness Tai Chi. Kevin has 38 years of experience teaching a form of Tai Chi developed by Master Moy Lin Shin to optimize health and well-being. You will learn the original, basic principles as taught by Master Moy, and then apply them to foundational exercises and tai chi moves. Your everyday life – balance, flexibility, calmness of mind – can improve when you learn and apply what you learn in this workshop. Kevin will teach the workshop virtually via Zoom on a large screen monitor. This is an in-person event only. The one-time fee for this workshop is $25 per person (no credits or refunds allowed).

Is this workshop for me? Some experience with this form of Tai Chi is recommended, even if you have not practiced for a few years. We are very fortunate to have an instructor with this amount of experience. Come join us to learn!

About Kevin Werre: Kevin is from Alberta, Canada, and began his Tai Chi Journey in 1985 at age 25 when he enrolled with an organization founded by Master Moy Lin Shin. Upon meeting Mr. Moy, he realized this was to be a life journey. With Mr. Moy’s approval, Kevin soon became an instructor and has been helping people learn Mr. Moy’s Tai Chi and Internal Arts for the last 37 years. Shortly before his passing in 1998, Mr. Moy personally asked Kevin to “help the other instructors”.

Kevin frequently interacts with many of Mr. Moy’s earlier students, whose goal is to further Mr. Moy’s original efforts by sharing and exploring his teachings. Kevin founded Awareness Tai Chi in 2015. Many independent groups and instructors benefit from Kevin’s instruction in Mr. Moy’s form of Tai Chi and Internal Arts, helping others to improve their health.

NOTE: Masks will be required for this event to protect our vulnerable practitioners.
